Ingrid had her Xray today to determine how many puppies, their size and position. The Vet said she has 6 puppies. However, after I arrived home they called and said that a second Vet looked at the Xray and they are changing the count to 7 puppies. They felt that there is one more on the right side that is overlapping another.
Here is a couple pictures of the Xray. Notice that I only count 6 puppies on these. That is because it was done before I got the call about the possible 7th puppy.
Send good thoughts and prayers that everyone will arrive safely! She due next Saturday.
A blog following a AKC Show breeder of fawn and black Pugs and what life is like living with them. A lot of pictures, stories, new puppies and pug art work.

Mommy & Me
I had fun making this video. Though it took forever to edit. Then I messed up at on the intro but too tired to go back and fix it. It should of ran a bit longer. Anyway, these two are a hoot! Rikki acts like a puppy. This is she and her son Babalu playing.
To get an idea of their size....Rikki is 14 pounds according to her weigh in today at the Vet. I haven't weighed Babalu but guessing he's 8 months old probably 16 pounds.

Day 44...Not long now
Ingrid has 19 days left until her due date. I doubt she'll go a full 63 days though. She'll have an x-ray done on the 23rd and I'll try to get a picture of it to share.
Tomorrow we pick up some supplies from the Vet to have on hand for the big day, so we'll be all prepared. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly.
She will have to take a bit of a hiatus from her video career but promises she'll do more as soon as she can. I'll see what sort of mood she's in next week and if she feels up to offering any pre-birthing wisdom (:

Planned Breeding
Arvay's Rikki Tikki Tavi (Rikki) has come into season and we plan on repeating a breeding to Ch. Lordship Ledgewood Jak in the Box. This is a repeat that produced our gorgeous kids; Bindy and Babalu. If all goes well puppies will be born sometime in July, 2008.

Reader Questions
I've been receiving some questions and I thought it might be helpful to share them here. Here we go...
"Do Pugs shed?"
Does Carter love peanuts? Yes, Pugs shed. Just how much though varies from dog to dog. They usually blow their coat once or twice a year and that can produce enough fur to make a small sweater. The rest of the time they do shed but with daily brushing it can be kept at a minimal. If you love Pugs you learn to live with the occasional hair floating around in your coffee.
"Is there any difference in personality between males and females?"
Based on my experience, yes there is a difference. Females can be more independent and sometimes persnickity around other girls (Alpha bitch). Males on the other hand are equal to a soft, squishy, lap pillow. Many are mama boys and affectionate. If I could only own one pug and had to choose between the two sexes, I'd get a male.

New Video - Babalu doing what boys do best...
Annoy the girls!! About half way through the video you'll see what I mean. He is almost 7 months old and thinks he's all that and a bag of chips. The girls would strongly dissagree though. I swear he uses that tail as a rudder (:

Buns in the oven
The countdown begins...Ingrid has 24 days until her due date. She's so sweet. I had a hard time filming her at times because she kept following me (: I can't wait to meet and snuggle her new babies. I wonder if we'll have any blacks (the sire is a champion black). I'll keep you posted!
P.S. The other girl is NOT pregnant, just a bit chubby...don't tell her I said that though. That is Mookie, our sweet old gal.

Original OOAK Whimsical Pug Painting
Oh those eyes! This whimsical Pug has such dreamy eyes, don't you think? I had such fun creating this little painting and wanted to share it with you all. It's done in acrylics on a 5 x 7 canvas board and then sealed with matte sealer. The watermark isn't on the original painting of course.
It's up on Etsy if you want to see more of it.
