New Pug Painting

It's been awhile since I've painted so I had fun doing this whimsical one today. It's actually a mixed media collage I did on a 16 x 12 1/2 inch wood cabinet door. I used antique hymnal song papers for the base and painted the Pug over them in acrylic. The bells on the collar are real bells that I've attached with wire.

This is a one of a kind and is available over on ETSY at the link below. Hope you like it!

New Pug Video - Boys can be so Annoying

At least Beebs thinks so. Babalu thinks he's all that and a bag of chips and that the "ladies" should fall at his feet. Hmmmfph...Beebs begs to differ.

Lunch Time! Pug puppies nursing

The puppies just turned 3 1/2 weeks old. They are so cute and little. They look more like 2 week olds as far as size. The little darlings are all walking...wobbly of course but they are getting the hang of it. We also started to introduce weaning and I'm offering them some blended up "gruel" (puppy food). I usually don't start to wean this young but because there are so many of them I think they would benefit from a little supplementing. They lap at the gruel a little bit. I think by next week they will really show more interest in it. Once they are fully weaned I think their growth will take off and they will start to catch up pretty quick. I'll end up keeping these puppies longer than normal just to make sure they are caught up in size before allowing them to go to their new homes.

Here is a picture of them at the lunch bar. Opps, sorry it's so dark...forgot the flash.

Black Pug Puppies - The Girls

Here are some pictures taken today of our black girls. They are a little over 2 weeks old. This first girl (in first and second photos) weighs 11.3 ounces. With Ingrid having so many puppies (9 w/two stillborn) I expected them to be small. They should really start catching up weight wise once we start weaning.

Her sister is a bit bigger, weighing 13.6 ounces.

We think these little girls are quite cute!

Watercolor Pug

Well, not really but it sort of resembles a watercolor painting. This is a picture of Arvay's Sugar Sand Tango (aka Babalu) that I manipulated in PSP. I think it turned out rather pretty. What do you think?

Puppy Pictures!

I thought you all would enjoy seeing a few pictures. The babies will be a week old tomorrow. They sure are hard to photograph as they are quite wiggly at this age.

Because Ingrid had so many, these babies were very small at birth and still pretty small for almost a week. Most of them weigh around 5.2 ounces. The smallest is 4.4 ounces and the largest is 7.2 ounces.

Awww...look at that sweet little peeking face.

This is one of the little black girl I have my eye on. Some of the puppies have no white on them and she is one of them. Isn't she sweet?

Drum Roll.....The Magnificent Seven are here!!

I figured that sounds better than the seven dwarfs *wink*

On Friday morning, May 30th after a long sleep deprived night previously, Ingrid presented us with puppies starting at 8:30 am. Unfortunately two teeny-tiny black girls were still born but we have 7 darling little babies that she free whelped over a 6 hour period. We have 5 blacks (3 boys/2 girls) and 2 fawns (both girls).

So far all are doing well and gaining. I'm terribly sleep deprived but it's all worth it. Goodness are these puglets cute! Sorry the picture isn't great. But here they are on their little make shift receiving blanket nursing platform and the other three you can see down there on the bottom of the picture.

I'm glad you all have enjoyed following this journey from breeding to birth! More adventures still lay ahead and I'll continue to share updates, pictures and videos as they grow.

OK, I'm off to supervise a feeding and then take a nap.
